Pub chess where every piece you take is worth points — and the king is only yours if you win. Any rating. No sections. Turn up and play.
Chess decides who won. It never says by how much. SuperChess counts what you actually took off the board, so a grinding win and a massacre are worth very different things — and the player who gets mated can still walk away with the night's best score.
No ratings, no tiebreaks, no arithmetic you need a manual for. Capture a piece, take its value. Win the game, take the king as well.
Which means the safe win and the reckless one are no longer the same move. That decision, every game, all night.
Turn up, give your name at the table, get a board number. If you have never played anything organised before, this is the right room.
Nobody is seeded. The strongest player in the pub can meet the newest one in the first game of the night.
The table splits into three zones by points and you are drawn at random inside yours. A good round moves you up, a bad one drops you. Nobody is protected.
Standings go up after every round. Find your name, see who you play next, work out what you are still playing for.
Points from all five rounds, one winner, and banter at the bar about whether the right person won.
Leave your email and you will get the pub, the date and the time before it goes public. Nothing else, ever.
